About the Role

This is a contract job, remote role based in Tampa, FL, for a Director of Philanthropy. The Director of Philanthropy will lead initiatives to develop and manage fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, and oversee philanthropy efforts. Key responsibilities include managing planned giving and annual giving programs, conducting prospect research, maintaining effective donor stewardship, and driving the organization’s philanthropic goals. The role requires strategic planning, collaboration with leadership, and representing the organization to key stakeholders and partners.

Qualifications

- Experience in Planned Giving and Philanthropy, with a demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies to secure major gifts and long-term donations

- Proficiency in Annual Giving and Prospect Research, including donor identification, cultivation strategies, and implementing successful giving campaigns

- Strong background in Stewardship, building and maintaining positive relationships with donors and ensuring effective communication

- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills

- Proven ability to meet fundraising goals and handle confidential donor information

- Prior experience in the nonprofit or environmental advocacy sector is a plus

- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
