SRC’s Finance & Performance Division has a career opportunity for a Director of Finance. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance & Performance, this role provides strategic leadership to further develop and strengthen the accounting team, supporting SRC’s continued growth and positioning the function to deliver consistently high-quality financial services.
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of SRC’s financial systems, internal controls, compliance frameworks and related financial processes
- Lead the preparation, analysis and presentation of financial statements, regulatory filings and key financial metrics for internal and external stakeholders
- Develop, mentor and strengthen the accounting and financial reporting team to support SRC’s continued growth, building capability and capacity, while positioning the team for long-term success
- Provide leadership and strategic guidance to financial analysts supporting SRC’s business areas, ensuring accuracy and consistency in financial analysis and reporting
- Oversee the annual external audit process and the preparation of financial reports for regulatory and government entities
- Represent the Finance & Performance Division at leadership meetings and ensuring alignment with SRC’s strategic priorities
- Deliver financial analysis, forecasting and strategic financial insight to support SRC’s enterprise-wide decision-making
- Review business and strategic planning activities, and providing financial perspective and recommendations on risk, opportunities and long-term financial sustainability
- Serve as the primary financial liaison with key external stakeholders, including auditors, financial institutions and government partners
- Oversee SRC’s budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting cycles, ensuring accuracy, transparency, compliance and alignment with organizational objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in financial accounting and financial management experience; experience in relevant industries is considered an asset
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience with demonstrated accountability for people, processes and outcomes
- Chartered Professional Accountant Designation is required
- In-depth understanding of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and knowledge of government reporting requirements
- Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing or operational environment is an asset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Power BI and Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations are assets
- Business acumen to provide solutions to business problems with an unwavering commitment to safety
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop a high performing, professional finance team
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Demonstrates a collaborative work style with excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to positively influence internal and external stakeholders utilizing relevant data and a collaborative and flexible approach to problem solving
- Customer-centric approach with demonstrated and consistent on-time delivery
