Simply HR Consulting is recruiting a Director of Network Operations in the Cache County area on behalf of a fast-growing, multi-state internet services provider. This role owns the reliability, scalability, and evolution of a complex, multi-vendor WISP / hybrid ISP network across multiple markets.
Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Director of Network Operations is responsible for ensuring 24/7 network reliability, leading the Network Operations Center (NOC), driving architectural modernization, and overseeing network integration related to growth and M&A activity.

The Director of Network Operations provides strategic and hands-on leadership across network operations, architecture, service assurance, and technical integrations. This role ensures standardized processes, strong SLAs, scalable infrastructure, and operational excellence while supporting multi-state growth and acquisition integration.
- Own network operations strategy and roadmap across all markets
- Lead and manage the 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC), serving as the final technical escalation point
- Drive architectural modernization, including SDN and VXLAN-based network designs
- Establish and enforce SLAs for uptime, response time, and resolution (MTTR)
- Lead planning and execution of network integrations for acquired ISPs
- Oversee core routing, peering, traffic engineering, and capacity planning
- Define and govern operational workflows (incident, change, maintenance, deployment)
- Align network operations with OSS/BSS systems for provisioning, billing, and fault management
- Own network-related OpEx and CapEx budgets; prioritize investments based on ROI
- Develop dashboards and reporting for key network and business performance metrics
- Communicate network status, risks, and strategy clearly to executive leadership
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing network engineers and NOC staff- 10+ years of experience in telecommunications or ISP environments - 5+ years in senior leadership overseeing network operations or NOC functions
- Expert-level experience with OSPF and BGP in production environments
- Architectural experience with SDN, VXLAN, or virtualized network designs
- Strong leadership experience with WISP, fiber, or hybrid access networks
- Familiarity with Cambium, Tarana, Ubiquiti, and Mikrotik RouterOS platforms
- Proven ability to design and run 24/7 operational processes
- Experience integrating acquired networks and standardizing infrastructure
- Strong executive communication and decision-making skills
- Data-driven mindset using KPIs, dashboards, and project management tools
- Prolonged periods of computer and desk work
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
- Periodic travel to network sites and branch locations (typically 1–3 trips per month, 2–4 days each)
