The Controller at Armstrong International is responsible for overseeing all financial operations at a designated manufacturing and operations campus. This leadership role provides comprehensive financial oversight, supports strategic initiatives, and ensures compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and corporate policies. The Controller partners closely with plant operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to drive performance and support continuous improvement.
- Lead Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes and provide financial forecasting to support business planning and strategic initiatives. Monitor actual results against budgets and provide variance analysis.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded, classified, and reconciled on a timely basis.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure accuracy in financial reporting, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Cost Management: Oversee cost accounting functions, providing analysis on production costs, inventory management, and product profitability to drive operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Financial Leadership: Provide financial leadership and guidance to the executive team, department heads, and other stakeholders, offering insights to drive business performance and decision-making.
- Audit & Tax Compliance: Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion of audits. Oversee tax compliance and liaise with external tax advisors to ensure proper tax reporting and planning.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Capital Project & Investment Analysis: Support capital planning by developing project budgets, analyzing ROI/NPV, monitoring spending, and ensuring financial discipline throughout project lifecycles.
- Systems Ownership & Improvement: Lead ongoing optimization of ERP system (IFS), including enhancements, integrations, and user-adoption initiatives to improve data quality and streamline workflows. Partner with operations, supply chain, and IT to improve system alignment with manufacturing processes and support automation across reporting, inventory, and cost management.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity to meet operational needs and making recommendations for cash flow optimization.
- Risk Management: Collaborate with senior management to identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the long-term financial health of the company.

- Demonstrated ability to lead ERP enhancements, support user training, improve data governance, and drive automation in financial processes (workflow automation, reduced manual posting, standardized costing inputs)
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, IFS, or similar ERP systems) and advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. MBA, CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation is preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive financial experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial operations, or 10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting.
