Manages the overall accounting activities of the organization. Administers accounting policies and directives. Evaluates the consumer information and fixed asset systems, payroll accounting, accounts payable and related records. Ensures accurate financial statements, entries and reports. Responsible for annual financial audit.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline
Knowledge of federal and state accounting requirements
Experience in an electric utility or associated industry preferred
Knowledge of FERC and RUS accounting standards preferred
Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license
Proven knowledge of federal, state and cooperative laws, codes, ordinances and regulations.
Strong management skills in the areas of ethics, communication, motivation, delegation, and employee development.
Accuracy, timeliness and the ability to supervise others.
Use of computer and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Responsible for assuring accuracy of general ledger, subsidiary ledgers and financial statements.
Preparation of financial statements and reporting requirements.
Preparation of annual reports and filings including form 7, gross revenue filing, PUC and EIA filings.
Responsible for budgeting process, documents assumptions, and coordination with departments.
Preparation of budget and forecast including reporting requirements.
Perform internal audit functions and perform test inventory standardization.
Responsible for accounting system planning, design, and implementation to support financial requirements and increase operational efficiency.
Data collection for COSA and rate analysis.
This is a full-time position. This position requires that the employee be available for work outside the normal daily work period. Travel may be required within the four-county service territory during the business day and infrequently overnight. Occasional out of the area travel is expected to attend various activities such as meetings, training and other events.
