Overview
We are seeking a highly disciplined, execution-oriented Controller to oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, cash management, and internal controls across a fast-growing portfolio of privately owned companies. These businesses span sectors including mining, industrial manufacturing, and explosive services, and are all under common ownership. The Controller will serve as the financial backbone of the enterprise—bringing structure, accountability, and transparency to a complex, multi-entity environment.

- Own the full accounting function across multiple operating companies under common ownership
- Ensure timely, accurate monthly closes with fully reconciled financials—no exceptions, no excuses
- Maintain internal controls and financial integrity across all entities and bank accounts
- Enforce discipline around GAAP compliance, accruals, revenue recognition, and expense tracking
- Build and maintain weekly consolidated cash flow models with entity-level visibility
- Monitor liquidity across divisions and work directly with the CEO on capital allocation
- Track AR, AP, and working capital trends—proactively identify and solve issues
- Manage banking relationships and support funding efforts (debt, equipment finance, etc.)
- Standardize accounting processes, cost codes, and chart of accounts across entities
- Identify and fix inefficiencies—own the cleanup of legacy accounting issues
- Evaluate and lead implementation of new systems as needed (e.g. ERP, inventory tracking)
- Prepare the organization for scale with durable processes, not just patchwork fixes
- Deliver clean, actionable financials by the 10th of each month—no delays
- Provide ad hoc reporting, dashboards, and analysis to support operations, pricing, and acquisitions
- Lead project-level cost tracking and profitability analysis
- Translate financial performance into strategic recommendations
- Supervise and develop internal accounting staff across locations (site-level and corporate)
- Hold the team to high standards—drive accountability, accuracy, and responsiveness
- Coordinate with external CPAs for tax prep, audits, and compliance, but never outsource ownership
- Serve as the single point of financial truth for the CEO and executive team
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred)
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial leadership roles- Proven success as Controller or senior-level accountant in multi-entity environments (manufacturing, mining, construction, or industrial services preferred)
- Strong command of GAAP, month-end close, consolidations, accruals, and internal controls
- Deep understanding of cash flow, AR/AP, and working capital mechanics
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Enterprise, Excel (advanced), and accounting system migrations or ERP upgrades
- Demonstrated ability to clean up systems, implement process discipline, and lead accounting through scale
- Strong communication skills with ability to interact directly with CEO and cross-functional operational leaders
- History of managing and developing small, distributed accounting teams (both in-office and remote)
- On-Site work in Coweta, OK Required
