Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team in the metal plating industry. This role is critical to our financial infrastructure as you will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. You will play a key role in our company's financial operations, and you will have the opportunity to work closely with our executive team and play a key role in our company's financial future and growth.
- Oversee and manage all accounting practices and financial reporting across multiple companies.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and supervise a team across AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.
- Develop and maintain documentation for close procedures and best practices.
- Ensure timely reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
- Ensure intercompany transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Develop monthly cash flow analysis and forecasting.
- Conduct various analysis to identify new opportunities for cost savings.
- Support audit management processes, ensure audits are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manages company bank balances to achieve operational goals.
- Handle workers' compensation, benefits, labor costs, and journal entries.
- Manage relationships with third-party payroll service providers.
- Accountable for system controls and oversight of accounting software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support strategic planning.
- Coordinate all requests from our external accounting firm and as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by our COO and ownership.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, CPA is preferred.
- At least 3 years of direct experience in a Controller role required.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Strong understanding and prior experience with SAGE required.
- Prior manufacturing experience and cost accounting experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to work with a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment.
