(“Mundoro”, “Company”) is a fast-growing, publicly listed, mineral resource exploration and investment company based out of Vancouver, B.C. The Company is focused on mineral exploration and investment in mineral resource properties in Europe and the USA.
We are seeking to add a
Controller to our team to support our growing international operations. Reporting directly to the CFO and CEO, the Controller will be a strategic team member, responsible for leveraging financial data to drive business insights and ensure the integrity of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree with 10+ years of experience in the accounting profession. The successful candidate will provide leadership and hands-on support in a wide variety of financial and accounting activities, including internal and external financial reporting, in-depth financial analysis, and coordinating year-end audits.- Preparing quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements for CFO review.
- Conducting in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making.
- Supporting year-end audits and other regulatory reviews.
- Managing treasury functions, including preparing
detailed cash flow forecasts and analyses.
- Developing and managing the budgeting process and delivering
insightful budget-to-actual variance analysis
to leadership.
- Producing high-quality,
data-driven reports
for internal management and external partners, translating complex financial information into actionable insights.
- Evaluating, implementing, and optimizing accounting systems and financial software
to improve efficiency, data integrity, and analytical capabilities.
- Leveraging emerging technologies, including AI-driven tools and agentic workflows, to automate financial processes and enhance analytical capabilities.
- Monitoring internal controls and maintaining 52-109 documentation.
- Working with a geographically dispersed team of accounting staff.
- Ensuring legal, tax, and regulatory compliance in all jurisdictions where the Company operates.
- A professional accounting designation (CPA preferred) and a university degree in a relevant field.
- Ideally, 10+ years of hands-on public company financial reporting experience, with exposure to the natural resources industry. - Ideally, 2+ years of experience at one of the big four accounting firms in audit.- Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, including building complex financial models, performing scenario analysis, and deriving strategic insights from financial data.
- A deep understanding of financial data systems and architecture. Hands-on experience with modern ERP/accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite), AP automation, and business intelligence (BI) or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with or a strong aptitude for developing and implementing automated workflows using AI agents and other intelligent automation tools to improve financial operations.
- Experience setting up project accounting systems and related processes from the ground up.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling.
- Strong current working knowledge of IFRS and consolidation principles.
- Demonstrated experience working remotely while understanding the importance of remote team collaboration.
- A strong communicator (both written and verbal), with good interpersonal skills and a proactive approach.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented, and fast-paced work environment.
