Logan Corporation is seeking a talented and highly motivated Assistant Controller. Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will play a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as well as administering the company’s payroll and benefits programs.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on, participatory manager with a successful track record of setting priorities, as well as excellent analytic, organization and communication skills. Confidentiality and efficiency are of utmost importance in this position as is a deep knowledge of regulations and benefit options.
Managing accounting functions on a day-to-day basis including invoicing, accounts receivable accounts payable, payroll and general ledger accounting.
Enhancing the accounting department’s use of software and integrating same into accounting, payroll and benefit processes and procedures.
Performing technical accounting issue research and resolution as necessary.
Assisting the Controller with preparation and completion of the fiscal year budgeting process, evaluating business unit performance against budget, and developing forecasts/reforecasts to provide an accurate projection of financial performance.
Assisting Controller with preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
Assisting Controller with preparation of monthly management financial reporting package, including variance analysis.
Assisting Controller with management of annual financial audit process performed by Logan’s independent CPA firm.
Developing, maintaining and enhancing accounting and finance policies, processes and procedures to comply with US GAAP.
Seeking opportunities to revise or create new policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of Logan’s accounting operations.
Assisting Controller with local, state and federal tax compliance and reporting (including property and sales and use tax compliance and reporting).
Establishing short and long-range accounting goals, objective, policies and procedures.
Designing benefit programs such as insurance and wellness.
Assuming responsibility of timely payment of monthly premiums.
Coordinating leave of absence and processing claims and requests such as medical operations, worker’s compensation, etc.
Experience with general ledger and other accounting systems.
Proficient in MS Office and/or HRMS system (e.g. Oracle).
Deep knowledge of a variety of benefit plans, including retirement, health and dental, etc.
$40,000 to $45,00 a year, commensurate with education and experience
