We have an immediate opportunity for 2 part-time Contract Operator. The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to effectively participate as a team member in the operation and maintenance of our gas and oil wells and facilities. The operations team ensures the maximum performance of mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical while managing the day-to-day operation of sweet wells, pipelines, multi-well batteries, field booster compressors, and gas facilities.
Work Environment
The shift is 8 days on – 6 days off working a 2-4hour workday and willing to take callouts as required. It is an asset for the successful candidate to reside in or around Cold Lake (Cherry Grove, Beaver River, Ardmore).
Responsibilities
- Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of CVE's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System
- Ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility. Models and coaches on behaviors to help a safety culture in which unsafe acts and/or conditions, no matter in what area of responsibility, are to be reported so corrective actions can be taken
- Understand and perform safety, environmental and regulatory responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lockout, emergency response and implement safe work procedures
- Operate and troubleshoot process equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform housekeeping, performance monitoring and maintenance activities
- Must be able to meet all the Operators roles and responsibilities as per Cenovus’s requirements.
- This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Cenovus Alcohol and Drug policy which includes pre-assignment testing
- Strong field/plant operating background
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License (drivers abstract is required)
- Utilize computer programs without assistance (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SCADA, Outlook and SAP)
- Must have strong troubleshooting skills
