Reporting to the Senior Field Business Technician – Edson, the Contract Field Business Technician provides day-to-day administrative support for both internal and external stakeholders. This role requires the ability to work independently, apply sound judgment, and bring a strong understanding of departmental processes and business unit objectives. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
This position is located in Edson, Alberta, and successful candidates must reside in the area.

Responsibilities
The Field Business Technician is responsible for a wide range of administrative and coordination activities in a field-based setting, often dealing with sensitive and confidential information with limited supervision. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting and signing in guests
- Managing and ordering office supplies
- Coordinating and tracking field requests
- Providing vendor relations support
- Reviewing and/or approving Operations invoices
- Tracking and investigating vendor spend
- Maintaining hierarchy and cost center listings
- Records management and file retention (e-filing)
- Preparing spreadsheets, presentations, and forms for operations staff
- Taking meeting minutes as required
- Organizing and ordering PPE for staff
- Coordinating safety training for staff
- Providing courteous, professional support to internal and external stakeholders
- Acting as a key communicator within the department, ensuring information is shared effectively through tools such as Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with other departments, including IT and Finance, to support requests such as invoicing and requisitions
- Updating and distributing procedures, monitoring guides, organizational charts, handbooks, and manuals as required
- Supporting shared team responsibilities to ensure departmental goals are achieved
Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
- Knowledge of professional office procedures
- Strong attention to detail, disciplined work ethic, and ability to take initiative
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions
