SRP is recruiting for a Community Engagement Strategy Intern. The ideal candidate should be committed to a minimum of a year with the potential of an exception, depending on performance. The immediate business need is for a workweek of 20-25 hours, with additional weekend hours based on the department's needs. Event season can create up to 29.5 hours a week, schedule allowing. The candidate should be in college studying the disciplines of communication, marketing, special events, business, or other related fields.
The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department’s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.
- Support various strategists throughout the planning process of community engagement and sponsorship opportunities for local community events as well as corporate partnerships, including but not limited to gathering event information, researching best practices and assisting with key departmental artifact and document audits
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities, and following written or oral instructions
- Interact with a variety of departments within SRP, as well as with customers and corporate/community partners
- Maintain a working knowledge of SRP programs and initiatives, customer segments and educate customers at community events
- Assist with event set-up and tear-down, including packing event materials, loading/unloading signage and display materials, and other tasks as needed
- Perform office duties, including inventory tracking, organizing event materials, deliveries, and other activities as assigned
- Local travel requiredCollege level coursework (100+) related to the position from an accredited institution is preferred.
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
