CNC Laser Programmer / Nesting Specialist

Hasty Bake Industries (HBI) is a growing metal fabrication operation supporting both in-house manufacturing and a contract job shop. We are looking for an experienced CNC Laser Programmer / Nesting Specialist to help improve material utilization, throughput, and overall shop flow.

This role is critical to daily production performance and works closely with production, engineering, and scheduling.

What You’ll Do

- Create and optimize nests for CNC laser cutting (sheet metal)

- Balance material yield, cut time, and downstream workflow

- Program parts from CAD files and production drawings

- Support daily production priorities in coordination with scheduling

- Maintain part libraries and nesting standards

- Troubleshoot programming, cut quality, and material usage issues

- Contribute to continuous improvement in programming and shop efficiency

What We’re Looking For

- Proven experience nesting and programming CNC lasers in a fabrication environment

- Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes

- Experience with laser programming and nesting software (PEP, SigmaNest, ProNest, Bystronic, Trumpf, Mazak, or similar)

- Practical, production-minded approach (not just “perfect nests” on paper)

- Comfortable working closely with the shop floor

- Willingness to work on the shop floor in support of material inventories

- Detail-oriented, organized, and accountable

Nice to Have (Not Required)

- Experience in a job shop or mixed-production environment

- Familiarity with Global Shop ERP

- PEP software experience (strong plus)

- Understanding of press brake sequencing and downstream impacts

- Lean/continuous improvement mindset
