Wyandotte Technologies is a leading provider of professional services and solutions to the Department of Energy. We are recruiting an experienced Classification Analyst to support our technical services contract for the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science (SC) in Oak Ridge, TN, and reporting to the Safeguards and Security Support Supervisor.
The mission of the technical support service contract is to provide an array of site-wide technical security support in a secure environment protecting critical national security assets. DOE’s management of its Safeguards & Security Programs is critical to national defense and requires fully qualified personnel to implement security programs that protect staff, information, technology, facilities, and the public. DOE’s management of its Classification Program is critical to national defense and requires fully qualified personnel to ensure compliance with the relevant DOE Order requirements. Our Classification Analyst provides support for all sites under the Wyandotte Technologies contract, to include advising and consulting on classification issues with Federal staff.
- Handles Atomic Energy Act and/or Executive Order information regularly.
- Performs technical review of documents and/or information for classification and/or declassification.
- Participates in preparation of training modules and may provide training for clients and/or contractor employees, up to and including specialized training for clients and/or employees in various DOE programs.
- Performs analysis of new issues; sanitizes documents for public release; appraises clients and/or contractors on classification issues and performs quality assurance on Large Scale Classification Review efforts and related issues.
- Provides technical knowledge for review and analysis that requires derivative classification authority and/or derivative declassification authority including documents requiring Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information Reviewing Official (RO) authority.
- Serves as a historian for long-term classification policies and historical activities.
- Assists in performing surveys and reviews of contractor facilities.
- Comments on proposed classification and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) guidance.
- Cross trains and provides support in other contract areas as needed.
- Experience with and ability to manage schedules and prioritize for multiple tasks.
- Effective oral and written communication skills as well as skills in interpersonal relationships. Must have working knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Ability to professionally complete reports and deliverables imposed by the supported clientele and the supervisor in a timely fashion.
- Ability to comprehend, translate and apply DOE Safeguards and Security requirements and directives.
- Ability to handle business sensitive, proprietary, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and classified matter up to and including Secret Restricted Data.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and deal with different and sometimes difficult types of people.
- Able to operate office equipment (e.g., facsimile machine, copier, and shredder) and effectively use personal computers and associated software to include MS Office Suite and Enterprise Secure Network (ESN).
- Ability to effectively interact with disparate working groups and management levels.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and 5+ years of effectively mentoring and training employees is preferred. - 5+ years of experience in all facets of Safeguards and Security disciplines, including Personnel Security, Information Security, COMSEC, MC&A, and Physical Security. - 5+ years of experience with interpreting and applying DOE security directives/orders and assessing and maintaining programs in compliance with these directives.- Position requires sitting at a computer monitor for long periods, walking, occasional bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, reaching, turning, and twisting. Position may require climbing stairs and/or ladders, lifting and carrying up to 15-25 pounds.
- Work is conducted in various environments. Inside where temperature and ventilation are controlled, and when conducting facility surveys, work may be performed outside where temperatures will vary.

- Current derivative classification and declassification authority is preferred, as well as being up to date on required DC/DD training requirements.
