Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Applications, the Business Analyst will be a member of the Business Applications team and contribute to advancing Financial Applications strategic initiatives while supporting how the Financial Applications functions operate, evolve, and deliver value across the organization.
The successful candidate will partner closely with leadership, team members, and key stakeholders to analyze complex internal processes, develop business cases, and support growth activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Formal training or demonstrated proficiency in business analysis practices, such as requirements management, process modelling and impact analysis
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a business analysis capacity
- Business Analyst certification would be considered an asset
- Analyze and optimize internal processes, operating models and governance to increase efficiency, clarity and scalability
- Design future-state processes and role alignment to resolve gaps, overlaps and dependency risks
- Support strategic initiatives through structured analysis, options assessment, business case development and fact-based recommendations to support leadership decision-making
- Assess impacts of strategic changes on people, processes, data and systems within the Financial Applications landscape
- Perform business analysis activities including requirements definition, process design, impact assessment, application configuration, support testing, training and enablement activities
- Produce comprehensive and concise documentation to ensure transparency and traceability between objectives, initiatives and outcomes
- Act as a trusted partner and collaborate with decision makers, key stakeholders, internal team members to ensure consistency, quality and integrity across all deliverables and responsibilities of the role
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst supporting complex, cross-functional initiatives within a Financial Applications environment or similar
- Strong expertise in business analysis discipline, including requirements definition, process analysis, impact assessment and decision support
- Demonstrated experience supporting strategic initiatives, including operating model evolution, governance, enablement or organizational change
- Proven ability to own the quality and integrity of work end-to-end, from problem articulation through recommendations and outcomes
- Experience working closely with senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups in ambiguous and evolving environments
- Strong analytical and structured thinking skills with the ability to translate complex inputs into clear, actionable deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence, challenge and align stakeholders
- Exposure to internal control procedures and audit requirements in relation to data access, security and system configuration would be an asset
- Ability to work independently with a sound professional judgement, accountability and ownership across all aspects of the role
