Summary: Maintenance and improvement of cooperative building and grounds.
- Perform all maintenance of the headquarters lawn and building landscape including mowing, trimming, spraying, fertilizing, planting, weeding, and raking, under the direction of the Facilities Manager
- Mow and spray the pole yard and keep it free of debris.
- Keep sidewalks and steps outside of building clear of snow, ice, and other hazards. Assist with snow removal and salting of parking lot. Assist the snow removal/salting contractor with snow removal and salting of the parking lot.
- Check lighting in building periodically and replace bulbs, tubes, and ballasts when necessary.
- Maintain walls and ceilings, including patching, painting, and cleaning. Prepare and paint walls and woodwork or perform other types of refinish.
- Install and repair flooring and carpeting.
- Build, repair, and install shelving, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, building framework, and trim.
- Install and repair windows and doors.
- Assist as directed with building and warehouse renovation projects, upgrades, and major repairs.
- Assist as directed in the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems, such as plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and electrical. Keep all restroom and kitchen facilities in working order.
- Perform minor repairs to various machinery, equipment, and tools but excluding heavy equipment such as vehicles, trailers and backhoe.
- Work in conjunction with the Stock Clerk to keep the garage floor neat and clean.
- Review inventory of janitorial supplies periodically, and order needed supplies.
- Assist Administrative Secretary and other management in preparation and setup for, as well as clean up after, various meetings that take place within the building, such as the monthly Board of Directors meeting, and employee and safety meetings. This also applies to the cooperative Annual Meeting which takes place off-site.
- Run errands as requested.
- Respond to emergency custodial requests as required.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Pay Range: Pay starts at $20.56 with an increase to $22.75 after 6 months and an increase to $26.45 after 12 months.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
