We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory & Materials Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of inventory at our Texas facility. This role is responsible for the strategic management of Raw Materials, Work-in-Process (WIP), and Finished Goods.
As we currently operate without a formal ERP system, the successful candidate must be an Excel expert capable of maintaining manual ledgers with 100% accuracy, while optimizing floor space and material flow across the warehouse and yard.
- Maintain and update manual Excel-based inventory ledgers for all raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished goods.
- Establish and enforce a standardized "Paper-to-Excel" documentation process to ensure every movement is recorded.
- Perform regular Cycle Counts and physical audits to ensure the Excel ledger matches physical stock (Zero-discrepancy goal).
- Design and manage storage locations (bin locations) to maximize space utilization in the warehouse and yard.
- Organize material flow to reduce handling time and improve accessibility for the production team.
- Implement visual management (labeling, signage, and 5S) to ensure a clean and organized storage environment.
- Coordinate the receiving of raw materials and the staging of finished goods for shipment.
- Monitor WIP (Work-in-Process) levels on the floor to prevent bottlenecks and overstocking.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure materials are available and correctly staged for daily schedules.
- Provide weekly inventory status reports, highlighting low-stock items or aging/obsolete materials.
- Analyze consumption patterns to assist in manual reorder point calculations.- Experience: 2+ years of experience in inventory control, materials management, or warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Excel Mastery (Critical): Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Process Driven: Proven ability to create and maintain organizational systems from scratch in a manual environment.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a Texas warehouse/plant environment and stay active on the floor for extended periods.
- Problem Solving: A "can-do" attitude to resolve space constraints and inventory discrepancies independently.
