GIS is seeking a skilled Backhoe Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating backhoes and other heavy equipment on construction sites. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment while ensuring safety and compliance with all regulations.

Responsibilities

- Operate backhoe to perform various construction tasks.

- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.

- Collaborate with site supervisors and other operators to coordinate work activities effectively.

- Assist in the excavation of trenches, foundations, and other earth-moving tasks as required.

- Transport materials using dump trucks and water trucks as needed for project completion.

- Implement horizontal drilling techniques when necessary for utility installations.

- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

- Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment used.

Qualifications

- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) REQUIRED

- High School Diploma or GED

- Five (5) or more years of proven experience in backhoe operation.

- Five (5) or more years of mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on machinery.

- Familiarity with construction site practices and safety regulations.

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
