Position Summary: SME Industries, Inc. is seeking high-potential Accounts Payable Clerks to join our team in West Jordan, UT. This role will be a key member of the accounting team, responsible for a broad range of AP activities. These roles are based in West Jordan, UT. and have an in-office work arrangement.

- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Reconcile statements in a timely manner
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions in accounting systems
- Aid and support to company personnel
- Research, track and restore documentation discrepancies
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Constantly update job knowledge
- Perform other duties as required
- Proven experience, preferably as an Accounts Payable rep.
- High school degree as a minimum qualification, relevant certifications and/or degree in accounting or finance preferred
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and GAAP procedures
- Competency in Excel and hands-on experience with spreadsheets
- Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software, such as TimberScan and Sage 300 CRE, and the Trimble suite
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Well-organized with the ability to condense complex information into a digestible format
- Honesty and accountability
