Accounts Payable Clerk

COMPANY: Metalico Buffalo Inc. JOB TITLE: Accounts Payable Clerk REPORTS TO: Controller JOB TYPE: Full-time, non-exempt LOCATION: 127 Fillmore Ave. Buffalo NY, 14210 HOURS: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm, overtime as needed COMPENSATION: $19-21/hour, based on skills and experience

- Accurately code and enter invoices after ensuring appropriate timely review and approval for multiple companies/divisions under one corporate umbrella.

- Accurately match and process freight invoices.

- Ensure proper taxability of invoices, researching issues as needed.

- Weekly preparation and mailing of checks.

- Weekly preparation and submission of ACH payments.

- Maintain all accounts payable files.

- Analyze vendor accounts and reconcile with vendor statements and handle all vendor inquiries.

- Track all capital expenditures.

- Assist in monthly closings.

- Assist in yearly 1099 filings.

- Cross train and work as part of an Accounts Payable Team.

- Participate in special projects or perform other tasks as assigned or requested by management.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Two-year Accounting Degree or High School Diploma with 1-3 years related experience in Accounts Payable; equivalent combination of education and experience.

- The ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information.

- Solid communication skills, with proficiency in speaking and writing.

- Computer literacy - including Microsoft Office Suite.

- Strong people skills - a polite and professional demeanor when working with other companies, as well as customers and coworkers.

- Detail oriented, and able to multitask.

- Must be a hard worker and a team player.
