A public company located in downtown Vancouver seeks a motivated Accounts Payable Clerk with a focus on accounts payable functions. The candidate should be a quick learner and self-starter with good problem-solving skills who can communicate effectively with the company’s staff, vendors and service providers in order to facilitate the accounts payable process in a timely and efficient manner and all within internal control processes.
- Collect invoices, obtain necessary approvals, code and post invoices into accounting system, process payments and maintain financial records of intercompany transactions.
- Responding to inquiries from vendors and internal staff.
- Researching and resolving invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Generating periodic reports related to accounts payable
- Ad hoc projects as required.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in full cycle accounting including accounts payable, bank reconciliation and general ledger maintenance.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task daily activities in a fast-paced environment. Committed to meeting deadlines and targets.
- A team player who can work independently with minimum supervision.
- Good knowledge of MS Office products.
