Job Summary: The Accounting Specialist is responsible for timely and accurately billing customers for multiple business divisions, collecting payments, generating management reports and assisting the Accounting Manager with various accounting tasks & projects. They also provide support to accounting, operations, and management team members.

Essential Functions include:
•Generate, review, and submit customer invoices.
•Review and apply contract/work order/PO billing requirements.
•Generate and issue credit memos.
•Interface with customers and operations to resolve billing issues related to services provided, hours billed, contract requirements, etc.
•Reconcile accounts ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
•Explain accounting procedures and processes to new and existing employees.
•Maintain written procedures for various accounting procedures and processes.
•Maintain customer contracts and accounting files.
•Process customer payments.
•Review customer accounts for any partial payments or errors. Contact customers to resolve any remittance discrepancies or past due amounts.
•Prepare accounting reports showing the analysis of accounting data. Reports may include making recommendations, and/or providing solutions to increase efficiency, enhance procedures, and/or eliminate waste.
•Create timely and accurate accounting reports and present them to company's executives and operations managers.
•Provide support to other members of the accounting team on an as needed basis.
•Responsible for compiling necessary documentation for accounting entries during audits and year end.
•Responsible for Annual Insurance Renewal.
•Responsible for processing requests for Certificates of Insurance.
•Maintain customer information in accounting system for assigned divisions.
•Assist with the development and implementation of internal controls, accounting policies and procedures with respect to current and best practices.
•Ensure sales tax rates are current.
•Primary backup for Payroll and B&O taxes.
•Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
·Bachelor's degree in accounting
