Accounting Specialist

Job Summary:

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining financial records, running reports for management, and recording a wide range of financial transactions. Duties will include offering administrative and bookkeeping assistance to the VP of Finance and confirming the accuracy of accounting database information. This position can be based out of our Watford City, Williston, or Dickinson office.


Supervisory Responsibilities:


None

Duties/Responsibilities: Daily Tasks (to include but not limited to):

Entry of Accounts Payable transactions
Bill customers for chargebacks and inventory items
Collaborate with welders and insulation departments to maintain inventory when applicable
Reconcile the company PO spreadsheet database
Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
Creating Deposits and Cash Application in Accounting software

Monthly Tasks (to include but not limited to):

File sales and use tax reports
Reconcile AP accounts including credit cards, charge backs and insurance payables
Reconcile Bank Statements

Annual Tasks (to include but not limited to):

Prepare 1099 reports
Contractor’s License Renewal and insurance requirements

As Needed Tasks (to include but not limited to):

Maintain fuel systems – add/remove equipment and drivers, update inventory volume and pricing. Create pins for fuel cards and Fuel Cloud for new Hires
New customer and new vendor setup. Informs Billing Specialist on new information that has been entered into databases
Collections


Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to maintain professionalism and a high degree of confidentiality.
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets, pivot, and reporting
Familiarity with accounting procedures
Accuracy and attention to detail

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to effectively communicate with other employees, managers and all other relevant third parties involved with the jobs performed. This includes (but may not be limited to) typing, speaking, reading, writing, and hearing.


Basic:

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Accounting Specialist (or similar role)
Understanding basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
Time Management and attention to detail
Ability to keep company and partner confidences
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (including strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point skills).
Must pass a drug screen, MVR check, and background check pursuant to local, state, and federal rules.


Preferred:

Experience in construction, manufacturing or oil and gas preferred
Associate Degree (or higher) in Accounting, Business or Finance
3-5 years’ experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable
Strong mathematical skills
Experience with QuickBooks software and online platforms



Physical Requirements:

Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate office machinery are required. This job also requires full range of body motion to include handling and lifting. The incumbent must repeatedly lift and/or move up to 30 (THIRTY) pounds unassisted. Visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing must be adequate to perform all required tasks in a safe manner.

The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Work is usually done indoors and sometimes (rarely)

at a

client

facility

or

job

site.

The incumbent

may

be

expected

to

travel

to

other

work sites

with prior notice.
