Job Summary
Directs and coordinates activities of production department in processing materials by performing the following duties:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Update press schedule to reflect current line-up.
- Update completed jobs for the past 24 hours to determine re-runs and material shortages. Complete jobs in Plex as inventory and complete releases allow.
- Update raw material requirements to Indicate remaining requirements on the schedule and available inventory and raw material received.
- Examine raw material receivers and enter lbs. received against P.O.’s.
- Identify scrap shipments in PLEX and on the inventory report for Wednesday inventory meeting.
- Maintain communication with raw material vendors to ensure available material and pick-up dates.
- Calculate available raw material and schedule P.O.’s for upcoming orders.
- Maintain communication with sales for job cancelations and changes.
- Schedule jobs for newly entered releasees in Plex and Epics.
- Update and complete parts in the workflow.
- Setup routings for new parts in Plex or create new parts as needed to cover orders.
- Plan production RFQ’s as needed.
- Create Press Process Sheets in plex for upcoming jobs.
- Calculate inventory numbers for morning meetings.
- Maintain communication with Gulfport to facilitate scrap shipments.
- Plan monthly raw material requirements and submit P.O.s for raw material.
- Track scrap inventory and numbers.
- Track inventory overages and move to scrap status as necessary.
- Production Meetings. (Tuesday/Thursday).
- Plan and complete inventory cycle counts (end of the month)
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED or one – three years related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
