Position Overview

MTW Industries is seeking highly skilled, motivated, self-starting, independent, and hard-working Welder/Fabricators. Excellent attendance and a drive to succeed are essential. Other industrial manufacturing skills and knowledge are a plus.

We are a fast-paced, high-demand, temperature-controlled industrial facility. Weld products are primarily produced from steel and aluminum. These components are used to manufacture multiple assemblies and structures.

The Welder/Fabricators at MTW will be responsible for excellent quality welds, inventive fabrication, and must perform their work diligently.

The ability to work to exact design specifications, deadlines, and to follow written and verbal instructions is key. Welders must be able to read drawings and utilize excellent math skills.

Pay is commensurate with experience and skill level.

Key Position Responsibilities

- Expert level welding, fabrication, and assembly of parts to exact requirements

- Set-up and maintenance of weld equipment

- Application of appropriate welding techniques, per industry standards

- Ability to work independently, and produce a meticulous product in a timely manner

- Review of finished product(s) and any necessary weld clean-up

- Material handling and inventory functions as needed

- Provide assistance in other shop duties as needed, must be a team player

- Maintain clean and safe workstation(s), tools, equipment, facility – utilize 5S/6S guidelines

Qualifications

- Education Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent

- 5 or more years welding/fabrication work experience, 5+ years MIG experience desired

- Comprehensive welding experience/knowledge

- Excellent attendance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic

- Prior leadership role or experience is beneficial

- All candidates must pass a welding test, pre-employment drug test, background check, and pre-employment physical

- Good verbal and written communications skills

- Aptitude for excellent judgement and attention to detail

- Strong desire for continued growth and learning

- Excellent math skills, ability to read drawings/prints, and familiarity with weld symbols

- Knowledge/utilization of safe work habits and operation of safety equipment

- Ability to:

- Lift minimum of 50 lbs

- Operate forklifts and overhead crane (MTW will provide training if needed)

- Read and accurately use a tape measure, rule, and square

- Follow directions, work instructions and schedules

- Use other tools such as: grinder, torch, plasma, arc gouger

- Troubleshoot fit, quality, or other potential concerns

Full-Time Position Includes

- Minimum 40 hours per week

- Starting wage dependent upon experience

- Paid holiday and PTO/EST for eligible employees

- Medical benefits after 90 days of employment - employer pays 100% of base plan premium
