General Purpose
This position, under the direction of Waterfront Division, is responsible for event site operations and maintenance for internally and externally-produced events including large scale concerts and festivals. Work is conducted throughout BPRW facilities and grounds and may include, but is not limited to: maintenance and operational support of events and event space, including turf, buildings, parks, parking areas and other locations that support Waterfront and BPRW events. The position works as a team with the Facilities Maintenance Specialist and marina staff, and reports to the Marina Manager.

Essential Job Functions
- Assist in aspects of event set-up and break down, including snow fence installation and removal, marking of water lines, transporting event supplies, installation and removal of temporary signage and other necessary support functions.
- Assist in all aspects of event operations which may include taking sound readings, responding to questions from the public and reporting any concerns or issues to the Facilities Maintenance Specialist, Event Staff or Marina Manager.
- Must be self-motivated. Ability to work individually or as a team depending on staffing levels and competing priorities.
- High level of customer service in a public atmosphere.
- Assist in Implementing day-of event checklists and ensure all details are complete before the event starts. Direct communication with onsite event producers and their staff is necessary to ensure smooth event operations.
- Able to work nights, weekends, City holidays and a flexible schedule.
- Assist in the maintenance of turf care to include: mowing, weed whacking, brush cutting, seeding and mulching.
- Clean restrooms regularly. This includes sweeping/mopping, restocking supplies, wiping down all surfaces including all sinks, urinals, and toilets.
- Assist in the collection of refuse in the park system. Pick up litter, remove graffiti and assist with painting and other special projects.
- Perform safe work practices for vehicle and power equipment in the public work site.
- Assist in setup and operations of BPRW produced events, such as July 3 rd , Beach Bites and other community-based events.
- Be a park advocate, which includes providing excellent customer feedback, notifying park supervisors if undesirable activity, damage, excessive littering, etc. exists within a park.
- Assist in the marina as necessary on marina-related projects and general marina operational needs.
- Ability to actively support City diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as evidenced by ongoing trainings and professional development.
- Must have or be willing to obtain ServSafe certification within 30 days of employment. The city will pay for or reimburse for this training.
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have a valid Driver's License and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
- Operation of a City vehicle or personal vehicle to conduct City business without providing proof of a valid driver's license to Human Resources will not be permitted. A valid driver’s license shall be defined as a current state of residence-issued license to operate a motor vehicle on public roadways. Position also requires the ability to be covered under the City’s vehicle insurance policy prior to operation of any City vehicles or non-City vehicles for City business
