Summary: Growing and dynamic company is looking for a full time Valve repair Technician for a demanding yet rewarding position. You must be highly competent, mechanically resourceful, detail-oriented and an exceptional communicator. This is a hands-on position that will require you to perform work in various environments to include shop work, field work, work in extreme heat and cold conditions, travel within a 150-mile radius to include occasional overnight stay, and flexible work hours that require frequent overtime demands during our busy seasons. You will be required to work in places that contain large mechanical equipment such as power plants, refineries, Petro chemical plants, hospitals and institutions of learning. This is a union represented position.
Day to Day work assignments will include but are not limited to:
- Refurbishing operations of various types of large valves and components to include but not limited to gate, globe, ball, butterfly, non-return check valves and various types of valve actuators.
- Repair and testing of all sizes and brands of pressure relief and safety valves.
- Rigging and millwright work.
Be able to lift 50 Lbs. Work at elevated heights with approved fall protection. Operate various equipment such as fork trucks and lifts as assigned and qualified. Be able to obtain TWIC credentials to gain access to secure areas of maritime facilities. Participate in a random drug testing program.
Competencies: You should possess the ability to read and work to procedures. You should possess the ability to exercise good judgment, work independently, and be motivated to perform to the best of your abilities. Good organizational skills and high ethical standards are expected. You should be willing to take on any challenge but also know your limitations. You must work well and communicate with all staff.
Education and/or Experience: Prior experience in industrial valve repair. Preferred experience with OSHA certifications/training, HAZCOM Training, and LOTO. Experience with hands on mechanical work. Machining and welding experience is a plus.
Work ability: Must be able to work in the United States.
Compensation & Hours: Starting wage for this position is $25 - $35 per hour commensurate with experience with opportunities for raises as skill sets are achieved and proven. We are only looking for full-time individuals. This is NOT a remote position.
