Come join our team! McMinnville Water and Light is hiring for the position of Utility Worker.
The Utility Worker plays an important role at the utility by installing and maintaining our water system infrastructure. This position operates equipment, including but not limited to a tandem axle dump truck, trailers, vacuum system, backhoe, excavator, and compactor, and uses hydraulic, pneumatic, power, and hand tools to perform work required in the construction, maintenance, and operation of an underground utility system. A team player who works harmoniously, efficiently, and safely with office staff, field crew employees, and the public.
Position requires the employee to be available to work regular or irregular schedules, including holidays, weekends, and on a rotating schedule for emergency standby call response.

To be considered for the selection process, applicants must have the following:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Live within 30 minutes of MW&L facilities.
- Driver’s license valid in Oregon, with acceptable driving record.
- Valid Oregon Class A CDL driver’s license with air brake and tanker endorsement (or ability to acquire within one year of hire date).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and physical.
- First Aid/CPR certifications, flagging certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Water Distribution Operator Certifications
- Water certifications, heavy equipment operator skills, or utility experience
