Join our dynamic utility construction team as a Natural Gas Distribution Construction Worker and become a vital part of building and maintaining our essential organization. In this energetic role, you will be actively involved in installing, repairing, and maintaining natural gas utility lines. Positions we need to fill as soon as possible include Trackhoe Operator with experience digging around underground utilites, Underground Directional Drill Operators (Bore Rig) with experience running and maintaining the equipment, Trackers with experience tracking the underground bore, Steel Pipe Welders, and General Labor which includes plastic fusion welding of pipe, physical work in hot & cold environment. Must have a valid Drivers License with good driving record. Background and drug testing is required. Training and advancement is offered to all employees. Your hands-on work will directly contribute to community development and ensure reliable utility services for residents and businesses alike. - Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of natural gas utility lines.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely to perform excavation and trenching tasks.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure work environment for yourself and team members.
- Read blueprints, maps, and technical diagrams to accurately locate underground lawsutilities before excavation. Become familiar with 811 laws.
- Support the setup of traffic control measures to ensure safe work zones around construction sites.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and tools to maintain optimal functionality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to project timelines and quality standards.
- Prior experience in utility construction or related field is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including digging, lifting heavy materials, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions precisely from blueprints or supervisors.
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and safety coordination on-site.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL certification is a plus but not mandatory at entry level.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction sites is advantageous.
