Underground Mechanic

Position

Reporting to the Underground Supervisor, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance, preventative and reactive maintenance on all underground equipment. This position collaborates with the other maintenance trades personnel and operations personnel to ensure safety, quality and efficiency in the coordination and execution of all underground site services.

This position is based on a 7/7 shiftwork schedule and 12 hours/day; however, the candidate must be willing to work overtime. Living Allowance is not offered for this position.

This position will be located at Esterhazy, SK at the Mosaic K3 site.

Job Duties

- Servicing, maintenance and repair of equipment, scheduled and as required

- Support safety and continuous improvement programs

- Diagnosing and troubleshooting breakdowns

- Maintain and support equipment records and repair history

- Provide data for cause and failure analysis

- Take part in planning and scheduling within work systems

- Implementing our preventative maintenance program

- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Heavy Duty Mechanic or Automotive Mechanic experience

- Experience with mine equipment is considered an asset

- Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record;

- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and immediate changes in priorities;

- Pre-employment medical exam and drug test will be required.
