A 1099 subcontractor for the installation of Energy Management System (EMS) thermostats and PTACs. This travel-based role is essential for enhancing energy efficiency in hotels by installing and configuring advanced thermostat systems and PTAC installation. Travel with the position will be for roughly 50% (or more if desired) of each month depending on project/schedule needs. Adequate time off between projects is provided.
- Install approximately 25 to 30 EMS thermostats/PTACS (Smaller HVACs)
(and any add-ons per contract needs) per day in various hotel locations.
- Communicate and Collaborate via email, text, voice, and in-person with On-site and Off-site Project Managers, On-site Managers, On-site Engineers, and any other important personnel in a timely, professional, and warm manner.
- Provide on-site training to hotel staff on the use and maintenance of installed systems.
- Manage and document equipment inventory and counts accurately.
- Troubleshoot technical issues between the thermostats and HVAC units, ensuring optimal performance.
- Proven experience in HVAC systems and thermostat installations (Preferred but not required)
- Ability to lift 60lbs unassisted, able to move/maneuver 125lbs with use of dollies/carts
- Work comfortably within a small team and complete all property tasks within allotted time frame
- Excellent communication and computer skills: Emails, Google Workplace, Zoom, other tracking apps required for data collection.
- Ability to travel (including setting up rental vehicles, and air-travel tickets) frequently and work independently, occassionally in small teams (with remote support)
- Working laptop or tablet and smartphone with uninterrupted service
- Liability insurance will be required after training is complete
- Valid bank account and credit card (required for direct deposit and vehicle rental purposes)
This is a 1099 subcontractor position, and compensation will be competitive based on contract specifications, as well as experience and performance. Compensation is received when each project is complete. All Travel, vehicle rental, and some equipment expenses are reimbursed.
