Central Electric Power Cooperative (Jefferson City, MO) is accepting applications for the position of Transmission System Operator (TSO). This position works as part of the operations team to monitor and operate the CEPC electrical transmission system.
Primary responsibilities include monitoring power flows, voltages, and equipment status across the transmission system; writing switching orders; and remotely assisting field crews with equipment operation and control.
Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of an associate's degree in industrial electricity, electrical distribution systems, electronics, or a closely related field. Experience in power system operations or electrical dispatching may be considered in lieu of a degree. Candidates must have the ability to attain and maintain NERC Transmission Operator certification within one year of the start date. A solid understanding of electrical system fundamentals and basic computer proficiency are required. The ability to interpret complex electrical systems is preferred.
This position requires shift work and the ability to be on call.
