Job Brief:

Doherty Steel is searching for a Tool Room Clerk who will efficiently assist with the organization, control, and distribution of tools and equipment within the facility and field operations. The primary role ensures that tools and equipment are properly tracked, maintained, and available to support production and field operations.

Tool Room Clerk Duties and Responsibilities:

· Issue and receive tools, equipment, and supplies to authorized personnel

· Maintain accurate inventory records (manual and/or computerized systems)

· Inspect returned tools for damage and arrange for repair if needed

· Monitor inventory levels and report shortages

· Organize and maintain tool storage areas

· Conduct routine inventory counts and audits

· Assist with ordering, labeling, and cataloging new tools

· Ensure compliance with company safety policies

· Coordinate calibration and preventive maintenance schedules (if applicable)

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Previous experience in inventory, warehouse, manufacturing, or tool room preferred

· Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office; inventory systems a plus)

· Strong organizations and record keeping skills

· Strong communication skills

· Mechanical aptitude preferred

· Ability to work overtime when necessary

· Give proper attention to detail

· Ability to maintain a safe and clean area

· Work smart, safe and adhere to PPE requirements

· Ability to take direction in order to succeed

· Attention to detail

· Time management

· Knowledge of tools and equipment

· Ability to stand for extended periods

· Lift and carry upwards of 50 pounds

· Ability to work in diverse weather conditions inside and outside our manufacturing facility
