Team Lead, I&T Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC),provides leadership in the implementation and continuous improvement of I&T governance, risk management, and compliance practices across the organization. This role ensures alignment with corporate strategy, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to support a secure and resilient Information & Technology (I&T) environment.
This role is accountable for developing and sustaining the I&T GRC strategy and overseeing the effective management of policies, standards, risks, issues, and policy exceptions. A key aspect of the role is mentoring and advising leaders across the organization, providing experienced governance guidance to strengthen GRC capability and consistency.
Major Responsibilities
Governance & Compliance
- Manage and maintain I&T governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
- Ensure adherence to internal I&T policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Lead, coordinate and report on I&T compliance assessments, audits, and policy exception handling.
- Monitor regulatory changes and maintain control mappings to demonstrate I&T compliance.
- Provide training and awareness on I&T governance and compliance topics.
- Support issue managers with guidance rooted in governance best practices.
- Manage and report on I&T risks and issues and support documentation and tracking of issues to closure.
- Identify, assess, monitor and maintain a portfolio view of technology risks; assess, track, and communicate mitigation progress.
- Monitor emerging I&T risks and integrate insights into planning and strategy.
- Update risk definitions, tolerances, and ownership with leadership and maintain documented procedures for managing I&T issues and risks.
- Prepare executive reporting on I&T governance, risk, compliance, and issue status.
- Lead and develop a small team supporting I&T GRC activities.
- Partner with internal audit, cyber security, resiliency and business continuity stakeholders.
- Drive maturity improvements in I&T governance, risk, compliance and issue response performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Certifications in governance, risk, and compliance are required- 5+ years of experience in IT governance, risk, and compliance roles
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (PCI, SOX, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of I&T governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ISO, NIST)
- Expertise in risk assessment methodologies and compliance management systems
- Proficiency in tools such as ServiceNow IRM/BCM, Power BI, Flow, and Microsoft 365
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive continuous improvement
- Experience in crisis management is considered an asset
- Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Data driven with strong analytical skills and the ability to create a clear and concise message from a variety of data sources
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage competing demands from various stakeholders with tight timelines

Location:
This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) workforce with office workspace located at ENMAX Place
(141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will have the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays and will be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
