We are currently looking for a

Systems Specialist

to join our Corporate Safety team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Director Safety, you will be responsible for strategically supporting the enterprise safety and environment technology solution used for reporting incidents and various assurance related activities across the Emera group of companies. You will play a pivotal role in the implementation and future support model for the platform.

Key elements of this role include:

- Maintain the safety and environment technology solution and monitor system and service level monitoring.

- Support corporate application security policies, practices and procedures and stay current on changes to standards by engaging with internal IT Security/Cyber stakeholders.

- Support configuration changes, new functionality based on business requirements and incident response including testing, troubleshooting, escalation protocols, and deploying changes/communications in coordination with the business.

- Collaborate with internal and/or external stakeholders to improve work processes for greater internal stakeholder experience and efficiency.

- Assist with assessing new functionality requests and collaborate with internal stakeholders from Emera operating companies and align with the corporate technology road map.

- Explore new vendor opportunities (features, enhancements, modules, etc.) within the technology solution to ensure continuous improvement and support adoption.

- Learn and have an awareness of industry innovation and trends impacting technology and the business solution. Share key insights with internal stakeholders.

- Review master data (e.g., incident reports, PeopleSoft integrations) within the technology solution for completeness, accuracy, and proactively work with the business to ensure clean data.

- Manage user access, permissions, and data security across Emera operating companies.

- Communicate, engage and support training and awareness activities on the technology solution for Emera group of companies (knowledge bases, job aids, FAQ’s, etc.) .

- Develop Emera Safety business continuity processes and materials documentation for the technology solution.

- In conjunction with internal stakeholders, develop and evaluate KPIs on technology solution investment and service levels on a periodic basis.

- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in computer science, information technology, business or other related fields.

- 2-5 years’ experience in cloud-based solutions and are able to configure at the application level.

- Experience working with configuring and supporting cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, other SaaS systems) considered an asset

- Highly motivated, energetic, and hands-on professional with strong collaborative skills who can work with diverse team members (both internal and external).

- Passionate about digital innovation and delivering exceptional customer experience.

- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage your own workload while multi-tasking to meet deadlines.

- Knowledge and understanding of technical and development processes are considered an asset.

- In-depth knowledge of the digital landscape and newly emerging technologies and social platforms.
