- During the first three (3) months of employment the incumbent will be required to work five (5) days a week onsite in the office, however thereafter they will be given the opportunity to work remotely two (2) days per week with manager approval
Position Summary
The Systems Engineer is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, support, and monitoring of Infrastructure systems and software. They will build knowledge in various technologies, diagnose and resolve issues quickly across the technology stack, and create/maintain documentation of these systems and IT policies. Additionally, they will manage and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment and integrated conferencing systems to ensure seamless multimedia support.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Provide audio-visual support and oversite for onsite and remote meetings.
- Lead the day-to-day operational support for the physical and virtual servers, networking infrastructure, various IT software, and security tools.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, and user identity services including SSO, MFA, and password management.
- Configure and support routers, switches, and telephony equipment as directed.
- Build servers, install software, and perform hardware and infrastructure patching/upgrades.
- Perform software and firmware updates to maintain security and system functionality.
- Execute and monitor data protection and recovery operations to ensure backup integrity and disaster ‑ recovery readiness.
- Apply security best practices and enforce least privilege access models across systems and applications.
- Serve as a tier-1 escalation resource for the help desk and serve as a bridge to resolve infrastructure, software and security issues.
- Create and maintain documentation, processes and troubleshooting procedures.
- Provide support to other technology teams and vendors to build integrations and troubleshoot performance issues.
- Configure and maintain monitoring of infrastructure systems and services to ensure rapid and accurate alerting, problem discovery and resolution leading to improved system uptime.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent job-related experience.
- At least 2-3 years of system administration, virtualization management and IT software systems.
- System Administration and IT certifications in Windows Server, networking, or security are a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent documentation skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Must be able to work well in team environment.
