Survey Crew Chief

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Survey Crew Chief. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately gathering field evidence, compiling and organizing project data, and ensuring all work meets company standards. You will lead field operations, work closely with a Licensed Surveyor, and help deliver high-quality surveying services.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate survey equipment, including Trimble GNSS systems and other tools.

- Collect, compile, and maintain accurate field notes to company standards.

- Create sketches and enter data into the computer for project documentation.

- Perform boundary, topographic, route, and construction staking surveys.

- Lead and manage a two-person crew, ensuring safety and efficiency.

- Report progress and findings to the Licensed Surveyor.

- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

- Proficiency with Trimble GNSS equipment and Trimble Access is required.

- Experience with optical digital levels and total stations is preferred.

- Willingness to travel, work overtime, and work weekends as needed.

- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat.

- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks (standing, stooping, crouching, kneeling) for extended periods.

- Capable of walking on uneven terrain regularly.

- Must pass a DOT-required drug test and maintain a clean motor vehicle record.

Experience

- Minimum of 2 years as a Crew Chief.

- At least 4 years of surveying experience.
