Supervises employees responsible for complex planning, scheduling, and coordination of bulk liquid product movements via pipeline, truck, rail, and barge/vessel to support continuity of supply and inventory optimization. Works closely with traders to support trading and sales activities. Performs complex scheduling functions across all modes of transport and can routinely perform all scheduling functions during employee absences. Prioritizes, monitors, and evaluates the work of self and team to ensure effective execution.
- Supervises refined product and renewable product Schedulers, while assisting in resolving product supply issues as a result of planned or unplanned events.
- Supports the maintenance of distribution system operability and cost drivers to maximize performance and meet supply requirements. Responds to changes quickly and accurately to prevent distribution disruptions.
- Oversees inventory management within the scheduling process, including daily, monthly, and year-end targets and reporting for the team.
- Interfaces with industry counterparts and third party carriers to coordinate product movements.
- Monitors, analyzes, and calculates logistics expense accruals/results and other key operational and financial metrics.
- Collaborates with Trading team and Supply team on product supply needs to support market strategies and provide operational alternatives.
- Supports efforts to optimize the product supply chain to reduce logistics costs.
- Ensures scheduling processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coaches and develops team to deliver results, and promotes employee development.
- Identifies and resolves business unit issues and roadblocks for the team.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, logistics or related field or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years’ experience in logistics or refinery scheduling, refinery process engineering or equivalent operational role- Demonstrated ability to work and negotiate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be on call 24/7
- Ability to plan and prioritize own work and others’ work to achieve optimum results
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills (both written and verbal), computer skills, and analytical skills
- Thrives in cross-functional team environment
- Ability to build relationships with colleagues at all levels
- Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Pipeline/Barge/Truck scheduling experience
- Exposure to one or more energy markets (crude oil and/or petroleum products)
- Understanding of the interaction and significance of the various aspects/elements of the refined products trading/marketing supply chain is desirable.
- Ability to apply a well-developed understanding of business strategies and logistics operations to achieve the business and team objectives.
- Understanding of RightAngle and/or Transport4 systems
