This temporary position assists Basin Electric Power Cooperative (BEPC) Geographic Information Systems (GIS), land surveying, and civil engineering staff in the Civil & Structural Engineering section at headquarters as they conduct engineering services and activities as needed for BEPC and its subsidiaries. The incumbent possesses a basic knowledge of GIS. Under the direction and supervision of the Supervisor, Geomatics, the incumbent will complete a variety of skilled tasks. This position typically works 40 hours per week.
- Assist department staff with assigned tasks, projects, or data entry aligned with field of study.
- Conduct research, analysis, or field support under supervision.

- Maintain accurate records, documentation, or logs.
- Follow safety, security, and procedural guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be enrolled as a full-time student in a two year GIS, Land Surveying, or Engineering Technology program with at least two semesters completed or recent graduate (within the past 12 months).
OR
- Be enrolled as a full-time student in a four year GIS, Land Surveying, or Engineering Technology program with at least two years completed or recent graduate (within the past 12 months).

This position may be identified as a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) related position, which may allow physical and/or logical access to Bulk Electric System (BES) cyber related assets or systems. This position may allow access to privileged information relating to such assets or systems. This position will be required to strictly adhere to all Basin Electric policies, procedures, and programs applicable to the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) requirements.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience.
- Additional certifications or coursework in field of study.
This position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, using keyboard/computer and using foot controls; and occasional crawling and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. This position requires finger dexterity, good color vision, good hearing, and ability to perform close work. Travel may be required.
