Student Intern - Geographic Information System (GIS)

The Student Intern – GIS will assist applications development teams in providing software solutions to build new applications, automate repetitive tasks, manage database operations, document management solutions, and enhance existing applications.

Essential Functions

- Assists staff to provide technical support to Commission staff

- Works in teams with staff in developing and maintain GIS applications and databases

- Works within a cross disciplinary team on IT projects.

- Researches COTS products and recommend solutions

- Performs other relates technologies related duties, as required

Other Functions

- Uses scripting languages like Python

- Performs GIS analysis and creates outputs (maps, dashboards)

Work Environment And Physical Demands

Business casual office setting.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Coursework in Geography, GIS

Minimum Education, Experience Requirements

- Completion of 2+ years college coursework in an IT discipline (or related discipline)

- Coursework or experience with GIS software
