As a Structural Engineering Intern in the Renewable Structural Group, you will assist with the structural design of utility-scale renewable energy and power infrastructure projects. This includes structural systems for substations, PV facilities, and BESS.
The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.
- Assist in performing detailed structural design for all aspects structural systems for substations, PV facilities, and BESS.
- Help prepare design products, including foundation plan and details, structural steel drawings and details, conductor stringing tables for shield wire poles, fence details.
- Help develop structural loading for solar trackers and support systems, driven piles, skid and slab mounted equipment, and equipment enclosures using ASCE 7, IBC, CBC, and other appropriate standards.
- Complete hand and computer-based calculations and models for structural designs. Create simple hand checks to quantify computer-aided results.
- Prepare a variety of documents and reports associated with projects, including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studies.
- Understand and apply applicable Codes and Standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred.
- Experience: Relevant coursework or projects in civil engineering or field experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SAP2000, L-Pile, MathCad, and PLS-CADD is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and people skills.
