Hazen is seeking a summer intern (May 2026 - August 2026) in our Seattle office. This candidate will provide structural design for water and wastewater facility projects. A qualified candidate should have an interest in providing structural design for Industrial Buildings, Pump Stations, Process Basins, and Treatment Facilities. Candidate will acquire experience in steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and aluminum design in addition to gaining familiarity with the building codes and structural analysis.

- This position may include working in one or both of our Buffalo and Rochester offices.
- Performing design and analysis of structures.
- Assist in preparing engineering deliverables, including construction submittal review and checking professional engineer calculations
- Work directly with experienced engineering team providing mentoring opportunities to learn and develop.
- Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in civil engineering with a structural concentration (Rising Juniors and above preferred).
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in group settings.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
