A key Optimus client is looking for a
Senior Manager, Commercial Trading
to lead their Trade Analyst team and partner directly with front office trading, logistics, and supply leadership to drive decision-making and market insight. This role sits at the heart of the refined products business and plays a critical part in shaping market strategy, optimizing supply, and leading new commercial ventures.
🛠What You’ll Do:
•Lead, coach, and grow a team of 6 Trade Analysts supporting refined products trading
•Own enhancements to tools, reporting, and processes — you’re the
right-angle expert
, ensuring data is right and insights are actionable
•Partner with traders to provide real-time market analysis and tell the “why” behind the data
•Design and support new commercial initiatives, including environmental credits and wholesale growth strategies
•Oversee marketing analytics and logistics — ~10% deal entry, but 90% focused on adding commercial value
•Manage supply to retail gas stations and wholesale customers across the U.S. — storage, short-term strategy, and import logistics
•Ensure a high standard of market intelligence, reporting, and business understanding across your team
