Solar O&M Technician – Inverter Troubleshooting/ Site Manager

We are a New Jersey–based commercial solar developer seeking a reliable Solar O&M Technician with hands-on inverter troubleshooting experience. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and restoring performance on existing commercial PV systems. This position is ideal for someone who works independently, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of assigned sites.
- Troubleshoot and repair commercial solar inverters (string and/or central)
- Diagnose inverter faults, communications issues, and system performance problems
- Perform corrective maintenance and emergency service calls
- Coordinate with inverter manufacturers and technical support as needed
- Accurately document work performed, findings, and resolutions
- Maintain safe work practices and comply with all site requirements
- Communicate clearly with project managers and asset owners
- May include overseeing construction of new sites to ensure quality control
- Minimum 2 years of solar O&M or service experience
- Demonstrated inverter troubleshooting experience
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Responsible, dependable, and self-motivated
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Comfortable using mobile apps, service tickets, and basic reporting tools
- Experience with major inverter brands (e.g., SMA, SolarEdge)
- Electrical background or formal electrical training
- NABCEP certification (PV Installation or PV Maintenance)
- Experience with monitoring platforms and communications troubleshooting
- $65,000-75,000, depending on experience
- Company truck provided
