Job Title: Senior Solar Installer

Location: San Diego Metropolitan Area Experience Required: 5+ Years Employment Type: Full-time Projects: Commercial & Industrial Rooftop Solar PV (Carports a plus)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solar Installer to support commercial rooftop solar PV installations across the San Diego region. This role requires strong hands-on expertise, a solid understanding of California electrical and safety codes, and the ability to work efficiently on active construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Install commercial rooftop solar PV systems including racking, modules, and BOS components

- Perform DC electrical work including string wiring, combiner boxes, and conduit runs

- Read and execute construction drawings, single-line diagrams, and layout plans

- Ensure installations comply with NEC, CEC, OSHA, and local AHJ requirements

- Coordinate with foremen, electricians, project managers, and safety officers

- Conduct quality checks and support inspections and commissioning activities

- Maintain jobsite cleanliness, safety compliance, and proper tool usage

- Troubleshoot installation issues and suggest field-level improvements

- Mentor junior installers and apprentices as required

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on solar installation experience (commercial required)

- Strong knowledge of commercial rooftop systems (ballasted & attached)

- Familiarity with California Electrical Code (CEC) and NEC

- Experience working at heights and on active construction sites

- Ability to interpret electrical and structural drawings

- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred)

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions

Preferred Skills

- Experience with carports and ground-mount systems

- NABCEP certification (Installation Professional or Associate)

- Forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift certification

- Prior experience in San Diego AHJ environments (SDGE territory a plus)
