Social Media/Videography Intern: Energy Efficiency

True Building Performance is seeking a part time videography, photography, social media Intern to help promote its energy efficiency and energy auditing services to the Capital Region. This position is open to current students or recent graduates of a degree program in New York State. The candidate will possess proficiency with mainstream social media networks, including but not limited to: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Youtube, LinkedIn. Creating engaging video, photography, and help with copy writing for daily/weekly social media posts will be an essential function of this role. Candidate must be willing to travel regularly within the capital district to engage in live, on-site content creation. Must be competent working independently and collaborating with supervisor. The position will begin in-person with the potential to transition into a hybrid schedule. Work locations to include company office and local residential project sites. Hours of role may be adjusted depending on student’s academic schedule. During summer(or if graduated), students may work up to 40hrs/week. During school year, students are expected to maintain at least 10 hr/week but cannot exceed 18 schedule.

Minimum qualifications:

- Ideal candidate will be currently pursuing a degree in videography/film, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related degree program.

- Currently attending or have attended a degree program at a college or university located in New York State within the last 12 months. Preference given to individuals studying communications, marketing, journalism and related programs.

- NYS residency

- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

- Interest in electrification, sustainable building design, construction, and home energy solutions.

- Ability to travel to homes around the capital region, Physical office and work from a remote as needed

- Physically able/comfortable in confined spaces such as attics, crawl spaces, etc for taking photos & videos

Duties:

- Create ongoing social media strategy for business that showcases energy efficiency audits and other energy related issues

- Produce timely and well-crafted social media content

- Attend meetings and other work in office or on-site (transportation required)

- Combine use of photography, video and writing skills to generate appealing, engaging social media content

- Identify and share energy related trends, news and policy relevant to home owners

- Other duties as assigned

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
