Shutdown Welders

As a Welder, you would be expected to:

- Receive instructions and carry out welding and fabrication tasks as assigned by the supervisor

- Be available to work shutdown projects at various locations throughout BC and AB

- Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings to plan layouts and welding procedures

- Perform welding at heights and in confined or challenging environments when required

- Fit, align, and weld components and structures according to specifications

- Operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick) and related tools safely and efficiently

- Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications

- Maintain equipment and ensure proper setup for each job

- Follow all safety regulations, procedures, and quality control standards

- Work collaboratively with supervisors and other trades to complete projects efficiently

Requirements:

- Strong commitment to safety including personal safety and the safety of co-workers

- Must pay close attention to detail

- Have the ability to meet deadlines

- CWB certification will be considered an asset

- Must have Red Seal certification

- Fall Protection, Aerial workplace platform, Confined Space Entry and Monitoring and Respirator Fit Test, are requirements of this position. Note Fall Protection and Confined Space courses must be completed in person and not online.

- Ability to pass pre-access testing

- Ability to work days and nights

- Availability for short notice work and longer shifts

- Own company with valid liability insurance and WorkSafeBC

- Must have own mine ready truck

- Willing to work out of town

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $45.00-$80.00 per hour
