As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a hands-on Shop Foreperson to lead our Leduc maintenance shop and support fleet operations.
As the Shop Foreperson – Leduc, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and coordination of shop operations at our Leduc facility, while working closely with Operations and Fleet to support equipment readiness for field work.
Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance & Repairs, you’ll lead shop technicians, apprentices, and shop hands, coordinate repair priorities, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to standard. This role is ideal for a strong people leader with mechanical expertise who thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment and takes pride in running an organized, high-performing shop.
- Lead, mentor, and support shop technicians, apprentices, and shop staff in Leduc.
- Assign, prioritize, and track work orders to keep maintenance and repairs on schedule.
- Schedule Heavy Equipment Technicians (HETs) and approve overtime as required.
- Address day-to-day employee matters (attendance, performance, conflict) professionally and consistently.
- Coordinate the movement of equipment in and out of the shop, including determining equipment readiness for field deployment and CVIP inspections.
- Work with the Manager, Maintenance & Repairs to coordinate major repairs and maintenance planning.
- Communicate regularly with Operations, Dispatch, and Fleet to align shop workflow with operational demands.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, including inspections, hazard assessments, and adherence to procedures.
- Partner with the Parts Technician to manage inventory levels and order required parts.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and logs using company systems (e.g., SiteDocs, AIMSIO).
- Track key shop performance indicators and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a shop or maintenance environment.
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) or equivalent mechanical background preferred.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- Clear, direct communication skills with a collaborative leadership style.

- Primarily based in an indoor shop environment with physical demands (lifting, confined spaces, working at heights).
