Under the direction and supervision of Shop Manager, the Shop Assistant will assist with all non-specialized facets of product realization including (but not limited to), prep work, machine operation, parts inspection, tool assembly, housekeeping, material packaging & handling, and other duties as required. The Shop Assistant will also be responsible for upholding company/product quality expectations and maintaining any tools & equipment used in the course of their work.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for various sand control machines and inspection of completed components.
- Handling of tubulars (casing) and other materials using forklift and overhead crane to load/unload shop and machines.
- Operate band saw, shop press, drill press, phosphate tanks, pipe handling equipment, overhead & jib cranes and other shop equipment as required
- Tool assembly which may include the use of hand tools, power tools and vices as required.
- Upkeep and preventative maintenance of equipment.
- General shop duties to include housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
- Work in conjunction with the QA/QC to ensure a consistent and quality product
- Follow all company health and safety policies. Conduct day-to-day work in a safe manner.
