Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing and executing all incoming and outgoing shipments, using and verifying check off list, staging projects before shipment, reviewing prints and pulling items.. This role involves using and coordinating with internal departments, carriers, and vendors to track and optimize shipping activities, ensuring that goods are received, inspected, documented, and delivered to the appropriate departments in a timely manner. This person maybe required to drive from time to time. A CDL is a plus, but willing to help achieve for the right fit.
- Shipping & Receiving Management
- Coordinate and oversee the shipping of outgoing products, ensuring accurate packaging, labeling, and timely dispatch.
- Receive incoming shipments, inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, and verify shipment contents against purchase orders or packing lists.
- Handle customs paperwork and ensure compliance with shipping regulations and company policies.
- Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, including shipment logs, packing slips, and bill of lading documentation.
- Document pictures of load staged and loaded.
- Carrier and Vendor Coordination
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers and communicate shipping instructions effectively.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with shipping vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective service.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to company safety protocols and OSHA regulations in all shipping and receiving activities.
- Regularly inspect equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in logistics or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: 2+ years in a shipping/receiving or logistics role.- Skills:
- Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with vendors and internal teams.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Detailed oriented and good record keeping skills.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and customs processes.
- Familiarity with safety practices in warehouse environments.
- Forklift certification
